Aluminium Joinery in Białystok — Large Glazing, No Compromise

Aluminium Joinery in Białystok — Large Glazing, No Compromise

Aluminium comes into play when a window gets large and has to carry a lot of glass. Slim, rigid profiles hold what uPVC simply cannot — shopfronts, terrace doors and glazing across half a wall. We will match the system to your project.

When does aluminium beat uPVC?

Aluminium joinery in Białystok proves its worth wherever a window has to be large, slim and able to hold a big pane of glass. Aluminium is more rigid than uPVC, so at the same dimensions the profile can be narrower — less frame, more light. That is why you so often see it in shopfronts, offices and modern homes with floor-to-ceiling glazing.

It is also a material built to last. It does not warp in the sun and copes well with moisture and temperature swings — from hard Podlasie frost to summer heat — while a powder-coated surface does not fade. Wherever durability, large formats and a clean, modern look matter, aluminium usually comes out ahead.

So when not aluminium? For ordinary domestic windows, where warmth and price matter most, a good uPVC window usually remains the wiser choice — it is cheaper and, at similar sizes, often warmer. The smartest option is frequently a mix: uPVC in the bedrooms, aluminium on the large glazed area in the living room. We will advise you where each material genuinely pays off.

Aluminium systems — key figures

We work with four aluminium profile systems plus HS ALU terrace doors. They differ above all in whether they have a thermal break (insulation inside the profile) and in their build depth — which in turn decides where each system makes sense: in a heated home, in a shopfront or in an internal partition.

80 mmSTAR — depth, K = 1,0
75/84 mmSUPERIAL — frame / sash
60/69 mmMB-60 — thermally broken
45/54 mmMB-45 — no thermal break
400 kgHS ALU — sash up to
EPDMgaskets (black / grey)

Below, briefly, how each one differs and what it suits.

STAR and SUPERIAL — warm window-and-door systems

Where aluminium is going into a heated interior, we reach for the high-insulation systems — STAR and SUPERIAL. They have a thermal break, so they hold heat far better than plain aluminium profiles.

STAR — 6-chamber, 80 mm

STAR is a 6-chamber system with a build depth of 80 mm, available with a semi-flush or non-flush sash. With a 24 mm sealed glazing unit it reaches a coefficient of K = 1,0 W/m²K, and with a triple-glazed pack it drops lower still. It is a good choice anywhere you want a warm aluminium window or door in a detached home.

SUPERIAL — 3-chamber, RAL colours

SUPERIAL is a three-chamber system with a build width of 75 mm (frame) / 84 mm (sash) for windows; for doors, both flush and non-flush profiles are available. It takes infill panels 14–61 mm thick, and the sashes can be uPVC or aluminium. It stands out for its wide colour range to the RAL chart plus wood-look shades — easy to match to the façade and the rest of the joinery.

MB-60 and MB-45 — with and without a thermal break

For shopfronts, porches and spatial structures we use two aluminium systems that differ in one thing: whether they have a thermal break. The rule is simple — if the partition separates warm from cold (a building entrance, a heated shopfront), we choose MB-60; if insulation is not needed (an internal partition, a shopfront in an unheated area), the lighter MB-45 will do.

MB-60 — with a thermal break

MB-60 has a three-chamber build with a thermal break and a structural depth of 60 mm (frame) / 69 mm (sash) for windows. It is a system for porches, shopfronts and spatial structures, where you need both rigidity and reduced heat loss.

MB-45 — without a thermal break

MB-45 is a system without a thermal break, with a depth of 45 mm (frame) / 54 mm (sash). With no insulation it is slim and light, and the profiles can be bent, which allows unusual yet sturdy constructions. It works well in shopfronts and internal partitions, where there is no warm-cold boundary and what counts is appearance and strength.

HS ALU terrace doors — vast glazing that glides

When a terrace is to join the living room through one vast glazed opening, HS ALU lift-and-slide terrace doors are the best answer. The aluminium construction lifts the sash for sliding, so even a huge pane glides smoothly and lightly in a single move.

400 kgmax. sash weight
3,2 mmax. height
3,3 mmax. width

The sash can weigh up to 400 kg and reach dimensions of up to 3,2 × 3,3 m, with single- or double-chamber glazing packs to choose from. It is a solution for large openings that classic hinged doors can no longer handle. Smaller terrace and balcony openings are served just as well by HS doors on a PVC profile — we will suggest which solution suits your terrace and budget.

Advice, fitting and service in Białystok

A large aluminium glazed unit is a structure where every millimetre matters — from measuring the opening, through supporting the heavy sash, to a tight fit in the wall. That is why we start with a site visit, not with a catalogue.

  • Free on-site survey — we check the opening, the structure and the fitting conditions for large glazing.
  • Free written quote — we match the system (STAR, SUPERIAL, MB-60, MB-45 or HS ALU) to your project.
  • Delivery and professional fitting by our own team — with care for the seal and the finish.
  • 5-year warranty and instalments — peace of mind for years, with the option to spread the payment.

Frequently asked questions

When are aluminium windows better, and when uPVC?
Aluminium wins for large glazing, shopfronts and structures where rigidity, a slim profile and durability matter — it holds a big pane of glass within a narrow frame. For ordinary domestic windows, where warmth and price matter most, a good uPVC window is usually the wiser choice. The best result is often a mix of both materials within one home.
How do the STAR, SUPERIAL, MB-60 and MB-45 systems differ?
STAR is a warm 6-chamber system at 80 mm (K = 1,0 with 24 mm glass), and SUPERIAL is a 3-chamber system at 75/84 mm with 14–61 mm infill panels and RAL colours — both have a thermal break, for heated interiors. MB-60 (60/69 mm) has a thermal break and is used for porches and shopfronts, while MB-45 (45/54 mm) has none — for shopfronts and internal partitions, where insulation is not needed.
How large can HS ALU terrace doors be?
HS ALU lift-and-slide terrace doors handle a sash weighing up to 400 kg and measuring up to 3,2 m high and 3,3 m wide. Despite the large pane, the sash lifts for sliding and glides lightly in a single move. Glazing packs are chosen as single- or double-chamber sets.
What gaskets do you use in aluminium joinery?
In our aluminium systems we use EPDM gaskets (in black or grey). EPDM resists UV, frost and ageing, holds its seal well over the years and does not harden through Podlasie winters, which translates into lasting insulation for the window or door.
Are the survey and quote for aluminium joinery free?
Yes. The on-site survey and the written quote are free and come with no obligation. With large aluminium glazing the survey matters all the more, because every millimetre of the opening and the way the heavy sash is supported make a difference. On that basis we will match the system and give you a firm price.
Do you offer aluminium doors and shopfronts for commercial premises in Białystok?
Yes. The SUPERIAL system, along with MB-60 and MB-45, works excellently in shop windows, porches and spatial structures in Białystok and the surrounding area. We will choose the thermally broken version (MB-60) where warmth is needed, or the lighter one without a thermal break (MB-45) for internal partitions.
