At Pro-Plast in Białystok we'll match the sill to the specific spot and window. We have five types of window sill: three for indoors and two for external fitting and renovation. They all suit windows made of PVC, wood and aluminium, so we'll match them to any joinery.
Before you order anything, we come out with a free survey, check the depth of the reveal and what the sill will have to put up with day to day. Only then do we talk about material, colour and overhang. We prefer to plan window sills alongside replacing your PVC windows — that way the trims and fitting come out clean, with no touch-ups.
Internal PVC window sills
Internal PVC window sills are the most popular choice for homes and flats. The core is made of high-impact polyvinyl chloride and laminated with high-quality PVC veneers, which gives a smooth, even surface that is easy to keep clean.
A wide palette of colours and wood-effect designs lets you match the sill to the colour of your joinery and interior, and the end finishes come in the colour of the sill. We cut it to any length, in the widest choice of colours and widths. During transport and fitting the sill is protected by a protective film.
- Core of high-impact PVC, laminated with PVC veneers.
- Smooth surface, moisture-resistant, easy to clean.
- Wide palette of colours and widths, any length.
- End finishes in the colour of the sill, protective film for fitting.
- For windows made of PVC, wood and aluminium.
Internal marble conglomerate window sills
Sills made of marble conglomerate are a choice that lasts for years, when you want the refined look of stone and high durability. They have very good resistance to weathering and chemical agents, and the smooth, glossy surface is easy to keep clean.
Conglomerate offers high mechanical strength and unique colouring and decoration — every sill has its own veining. This solution suits any kind of interior, and is easy to fit at the same time.
- Resistant to weathering and chemical agents.
- Smooth, glossy surface, easy to clean.
- High mechanical strength.
- Unique veining and colouring of the stone.
External window sills
Outside, a sill works hard: it carries water away from beneath the window and protects the façade and the joint between frame and wall. Here in our region it gets all of that in a tough form — freezing winters, the temperature swinging back and forth across zero, snow melting by day and freezing again at night. So we choose external window sills for durability.
This is good quality at an accessible price — attractive and durable, resistant to the effects of weathering. They are resistant to moisture and staining, non-flammable, and resistant to chemicals and cleaning agents. Properly fitted, they protect the building's façade and carry water away efficiently. They suit windows made of PVC, wood and aluminium.
- Resistant to weathering, moisture and staining.
- Non-flammable, resistant to chemicals and cleaning agents.
- Protect the façade and carry water away from beneath the window.
- Good quality at an accessible price.
Overlay renovation and MDF window sills
Two solutions for those refreshing an interior without chiselling and major renovation.
Overlay renovation sills
Overlay renovation sills are designed to be fitted over old sills — concrete, terrazzo, wooden and the like. Once fitted with assembly adhesive, they form a coherent whole with the old sill, giving it a new, attractive look. It's a quick way to refresh the window area without removing the old base.
MDF window sills
An MDF board is a wood-based product, waterproof, made by pressing wood fibres. It gives a smooth surface and guarantees durable use for many years. It's a good compromise between a warm, wood-effect look and resistance to moisture.
- Renovation: fitted with adhesive over the old sill, without chiselling.
- MDF: wood-based, waterproof, smooth surface.
- Both suit windows made of PVC, wood and aluminium.
Choosing and fitting the right sill
Choosing a sill starts with a few simple questions we ask during the free survey. We check the depth of the reveal, the thickness of the wall, the width of the window and what the sill has to put up with day to day — only then do we talk about material and colour.
What we look at when choosing
- The room — kitchens and bathrooms mean moisture and splashes, so conglomerate or resistant PVC; a living room gives you free rein to choose for style.
- Dimensions and overhang — a wide sill over a radiator is sized so it doesn't block the flow of warm air or cause condensation on the glass.
- The façade — outside, we match colour and material to the render, brick and trims so the whole thing works together.
- Renovation — when the old sill is still sound, an overlay sill refreshes it without removal.
It's worth planning the sill alongside replacing your joinery — the best time to choose one is when you're having new PVC windows, then complete the interior with roller blinds or venetian blinds. We'll gladly come out, measure up and advise — book a free survey or call 602 488 413.
