A Classic Side-Hinged Door for Garages and Outbuildings

Double-leaf doors are the oldest and simplest form of garage door — two leaves opening outwards. It is a solid and reliable solution, ideal for garages and outbuildings, that goes well with the classic architecture of a building. Where there is no room under the ceiling for a sectional door's tracks, or you want a traditional look, a side-hinged door works superbly.

Its strengths are the simplicity of construction, durability and wide scope for personalisation — we will choose the embossing, texture and colour so that the door forms a coherent whole with the façade and the joinery. If needed, we will compare it with a sectional door and point out which solution comes out better for you.

40 mm Panel, PUR Foam and Z100/Z225 Sheet

We fill the leaves of a KS SYSTEM double-leaf door with the same warm panel as sectional doors — a monolithic panel with a constant thickness of 40 mm with a core of PUR foam of a density of at least 38 kg/m³. That guarantees good thermal insulation and quietness in a side-hinged door too.

The panel is skinned with sheet metal on both sides: galvanised Z100 steel on the inside, Z225 with a thickness of 0.48 mm on the outside, covered with a primer and an outer polyester coating. The coating protects against corrosion and the weather, so the door holds its colour for a long time.

Aluminium Profiles, Colours and Automation

The aluminium profiles of double-leaf doors are matched as standard to the colour of the infill — the frame and the panel then read as one. Finishes in woodgrain colours and in shades from the RAL palette are also possible.

The colour scheme and finishes are shared with sectional doors: woodgrain finishes (among others golden oak, walnut, bog oak, mahogany, winchester) and RAL colours (anthracite RAL 7016, white RAL 9016, silver RAL 9006, grey RAL 9007). Available embossing variants are no embossing, single, narrow (in the stucco and woodgrain textures) and ribbed 8 mm, and the textures are smooth / stucco / woodgrain.

Although a side-hinged door is a classic solution, it can also be fitted with automation — convenient powered opening of the leaves, which we choose individually to suit the dimensions and mass of the door. We will discuss the details at the survey.

Survey and Fitting in Białystok and the Surrounding Area

A side-hinged door needs room to open its leaves outwards — which is why, when selecting one, we check not only the opening but also the space in front of the garage. We do this at the free on-site survey: we measure the opening, assess the reveals, the floor and the way the leaves will open.
