MODERNDOOR — construction and key parameters

MODERNDOOR is a PVC exterior door system that serves as both a functional element of the building and an aesthetic finish for the entrance. The construction is based on 6-chamber profiles derived from the proven MODERNTHERM window platform, with an installation depth of 80 mm — the foundation of good insulation and leaf rigidity.

The leaf is available in two opening variants: type T — opening outwards, and type Z — opening inwards. This lets us match MODERNDOOR to the layout of the porch, the opening direction and the space in front of the entrance.

How much heat do MODERNDOOR doors retain?

MODERNDOOR is an energy-efficient door — and the figures show it. The heat transfer coefficient depends on the chosen infill: with a 24 mm unit the door reaches Ud = 1,1 W/m²K, and with a 48 mm unit as low as Ud = 0,5 W/m²K. A solid 48 mm panel is also available as a non-glazed infill.

The warmth is not down to the profile alone. The aluminium G-U threshold with a thermal break limits heat loss at the critical point at the bottom of the door, and the sealing is multi-layered: a four-lip threshold seal, a "Wiatrostop" wind-block seal, and on inward-opening doors an additional brush seal. Doors built this way qualify for the government "Czyste Powietrze" programme, which can mean funding towards the replacement.

Security — the G-U Secury Automatic lock

As standard MODERNDOOR is fitted with a 3-point G-U Secury Automatic espagnolette with a single lock. The bolts engage at three points of the leaf, which makes the door harder to lever open and improves its pressure against the frame. The leaf is hung on three hinges.

For added peace of mind there is the option of fitting an additional lock (a four-point lock with an extra chamber). We'll advise which configuration makes sense for your entrance. If you want a brand-name door with a declared burglar-resistance class, also see our range of exterior doors.

Panel designs, opening direction and colours

MODERNDOOR comes in several panel designs and leaf configurations: T3, Z3, T2, Z2 and their glazed versions marked with the letter "p" (T3p, Z3p, T2p, Z2p). The letter T or Z denotes the opening direction, and the "p" variant a glazing with a division.

  • Outward opening (type T) — saves space in the porch and hallway.
  • Inward opening (type Z) — with an additional brush seal at the threshold.

The colour range is wide. The standard palette includes among others Złoty dąb, Orzech, Mahoń, Antracyt and Biały, with further foils and colours in the supplementary and made-to-order variants. We match the seals to the door colour: black or grey for white doors, black only for coloured and foiled doors. We'll show you the full palette at the measurement.
